The scenic views from Eyjar Fishing Lodge truly captivated me. The cozy lodge atmosphere and its charming wooden décor made the stay incredibly warm and inviting. I appreciated the shared communal spaces, where I could enjoy a cup of excellent coffee, especially in the beautifully decorated sitting area overlooking the river valley and mountains. Breakfast was a highlight. the fresh and delicious options were cook-to-order, ensuring that every meal felt personalized. However, I encountered a bit of a bummer when the jacuzzi and sauna weren't functioning during my visit, which was disappointing as I was looking forward to some relaxation after a long day. Additionally, being so remote, it would have been helpful to have clearer signage to the lodge and some recommendations for nearby dining options, particularly since I did not encounter any other guests during my stay. Despite these minor inconveniences, my overall experience was cozy and enjoyable, driven by the serene setting and attentive service.

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but this is Iceland after all.

We stayed in a Double or Twin Room for one night, and it was super cozy and clean. The bed was comfy, so I slept great! Loved the fishing-themed decor. it gave the place a real charm. The communal dining area with a big table was cool for breakfast. Just a heads up, the room sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but it added to the snug vibe. I wish there were clearer directions to find the lodge. the roads were a bit tricky to navigate! But I really enjoyed the stay.
